Creative Visualisation

What is creative visualisation?

Thought is creative. Creative visualisation is a form of guided meditation where thought is used to create desired emotional states.

Our emotions within a situation are largely a consequence of how we imagine ourselves feeling. A person who experiences performance anxiety while talking in public, holds a mental image of themselves feeling anxious during the performance which in itself creates anxiety.

Using creative visualisation, negative mental pictures are deconstructed and new, beneficial pictures implemented in their place. New behaviours and emotions are created through an intricate form of mental rehearsal.

Creative visualisation is a valuable life tool. With a little practice, one can access any emotional state at will.

Guided imagery

There is a proven relationship between the body and the mind. The application of creative visualisation for the purpose of healing is known as guided imagery.

Guided imagery involves using mental symbols appropriate for the individual in a focused way for the purpose of accelerated healing.

Using this technique, one can direct the natural healing process taking place inside the body. Guided imagery has helped many people, including individuals with life threatening situations.
